These two masks both represent Conquistadors. A conquistador was a Spanish soldier/explorer who came to Mexico in the 1500's. The most famous conquistador in Mexico was Cortes.

When the missionaries arrived, the Maya, Aztecs and Zapotec's already had a religion and masks they used for dancing. (See: Eagle and Jaguar Knights.) A tradition of Moors and Christian dancing developed. This mask on the left came from a family in Puebla. It is made from leather and human hair. The mask on the right is also a conquistador mask. It is made from screen. Can you guess why they are so different? The leather mask cost $60 US dollars. The mask on the right cost $1 US dollar. Most of the people in Mexico would buy the mask on the right to parade as a conquistador. You can see how they look with the entire costume on here. They have a hat, a bullet belt crossed and sometimes wooden or real guns.
